The National Weather Service in the Twin Cities has issued a

East Central McLeod County in central Minnesota...
Northwestern Carver County in east central Minnesota...

* Until 700 PM CDT.

* At 628 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a
tornado was located over Lester Prairie, or 17 miles east of
Hutchinson, moving east at 20 mph.

HAZARD...Tornado and ping pong ball size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated rotation.

IMPACT...Flying debris will be dangerous to those caught
without shelter. Mobile homes will be damaged or
destroyed. Damage to roofs, windows and vehicles will
occur. Tree damage is likely.

Lester Prairie around 630 PM CDT.
Mayer and Norwood Young America around 645 PM CDT.
Waconia around 655 PM CDT.

Other locations impacted by the tornado include New Germany and
Hollywood.
