• Randon displays question

From Rick V@VERT to All on Monday, May 19, 2025 12:24:39
I use the stock "random" displays when ever someone logs in. But when they do,
2 of the displays run, one after the other. Is there a setting to have just one
display at the time of a login?

There's no "setting" - when a display file includes a wildcard ('*' or '?') one file matching that pattern is picked at random. That's it. Double check what files you have and what pattern you're using.

I have the stock 8 Random*.msg display files in my text/menu directory. Everytime a login happens 2 are always displayed.

That's not normal. Maybe you *also* have text/menu/logon.* files?

There's a debug-level message logged by the terminal server whenever a display file is sent to the remote client, i.e. "Printing file: x" - that can be helpful in determining file is being sent when.

Found a stray Logon.asc in the menu directory. Also turned on Debug and also saw it there. Removed that file and it is fine now.. Thanks for the help!
