From Ed Vance@VERT/CAPCITY2 to MRO on Thursday, November 21, 2024 13:54:09
MRO, It must be the same problem I have with my car.
There is a Loose Nut behind the Steering Wheel.

Since getting this phone I've only added two apps to it
    NoScript and The Online Bible.

I'm still a Amateur at using this Android phone.
I would be too if I selected an iPhone to use.
My only experience with a MacIntosh Computer was with the original and learning to eject a 3.5 Floppy Disc It wanted me to send it to the Trash.
That was strange to my way of thinking.

I forgot that Firefox and DuckDuckGo are called apps.
Those two were the first things I asked the Store employee to put on the Android phone when I was there to get a cellphone from them.

I know Android OS is a Google product but wanted NoScript to limit Google and Amazon products to the Default setting when I visited a page.
Only Temporarily Allow those when the page REALLY need it to let me see or do what the page is for.

dont know what you mean by default setting and temporarily allow. I think it's on your phone but doing nothing.

if you want full control over that google stuff you need to root your phone and make changes.

if you want a decent safe browser i suggest you get brave browser on your android phone.

It is NoScript that allows me to select Allow, Temporary Allow or leave sites for pages as Default.

I guess You never used Firefox with the NoScript Add On as I have on my desktop PC .

I will take a look at Brave browser and try it a bit.

The Default I wrote about is shown in a drop-down box I see on a site after tapping the 3 vertical dots and tapping Extensions and then selecting the NoScript option from the list of extensions.

While logged on right now, the list only has synchro.net .
I have the synchro.net site marked as Trusted, therefore NoScript lets everything synchro.net sends me show up on this device.

Sites that use Amazons CloudFront or Googles Double click or any of Their other (I call them Services) , I can leave any of them at NoScripts Default setting. If the page needs some JavaScript option Turned On Instead of having NoScript Save the Service I can tap Temp. Allow so NoScript will let what the Service wants to send to me pass on through during this connection to the webpage until I close my browser.

Then the next time the site is visited by me those services will not send all they have to me because the new session won't retain the Temporary setting, the Default setting will be in NoScripts list of Services.

I say Services because I don't know the proper term to call them.

Still Learning, that's why I use a BBS.

Sounds like it might be useful on my android box. I've been

Watching a movie or anything longer than 20-30 min is injected

Sounds like it might be useful on my
    android box. I've been
using the YT app on it, but ofcourse

Android box hooked up to a TV? For one,
NewPipe is a decent Youtube client that
blocks ads and such. It doesn't let you
log in, though, it keeps all your subs
and history to itself. Better yet,
though, there's also Kodi which has a
Youtube add-on. I use various browser
plugins to right-click YT links and
select "Send to Kodi" so I can watch
    them on my TV.
Oh yeah, no ads there either.

What concerns me is that the marketing industry is bubbling up and its burst will destroy many services people is used to.

Meanwhile use adblockers like everybody else, and let the sheep fund your services by watching ads.
